Kondubhatla Ramachandra Murthy or K R Murthy (born 1948) (Telugu: కొండుభట్ల రామచంద్ర మూర్తి) is an Indian Journalist. He is the honorary editor for Primepost . Before to this he was working as the MD and CEO of Hyderabad Media House Ltd which runs HMTV and English daily, The Hans India and Chief Editor of HMTV and The Hans India. Mr. Ramachandra Murthy is one of the renowned intellectuals in Andhra Pradesh. He is a very popular journalist and commands respect from the people as a media professional and social activist. He is known for his pro-people, pro-Dalit and pro-underdog social philosophy. He played a crucial role in preparing ground for the talks between Maoists and the government of AP in 2004. He also played a stellar role in creating deeper understanding of the issues in the wake of the UPA decision to establish separate State of Telangana. His role in getting the SC ST, sub-plan Bill passed by the AP Assembly acted as a catalyst. He is a good orator and a resourceful leader. He built a number of media institutions and worked whole heartedly to strengthen democratic institutions. ==Career==
He joined Indian Express as a sub-editor in 1973, and then shifted to Andhra Prabha, a Telugu newspaper in 1976. After working for 8 years with Andhra Prabha he joined the team that launched a newspaper called "Udayam". He was in charge of the Vijayawada edition of the newspaper. After 8 years with Udayam, Mr. Murthy shifted to Delhi as Chief of News Bureau of Andhra Jyothy. He returned to Udayam after two years to take over as its editor. Then he joined Vaartha daily as editor. After six years at Vartha, he moved on to revived Andhra Jyothy, a reputed newspaper which was closed for 18 months. He was the chief editor of Andhra Jyothy for five and half years before he launched Hyderabad Media House which promoted TV news.
